Finding A Way

Hello everyone, I try to post at least once a week - but at times life just gets in the way of our hidden treasures. These past few weeks have been interesting trying to balance work, school, and a new prospect in my personal life...at times as usual sometimes they all run head on into each other and crash and burn lol, but it's great when they function on their own and create magic in my life. I was talking to a customer at my job just the other day about balancing life and fulfilling your dreams and she told me as many others have, she wished she had have had the drive and initiative to follow her dreams like I am doing today and it gave me just enough inspiration to keep on going on my quest to greatness. We find inspiration and encouragemnt sometimes through the most unlikely sources, this week mine came from a lady in her 70's looking for wood glue...go figure right? This week I want to you take the time to find out what pushes you, or what inspires you? I'd like to share a song with you this week that helps me get through rough spots, creative blocks, and just puts my life into perspective at times. I'd love for you to share with me the tools you use for success. Personally my biggest music inspriation are the Black Eyed Peas, each member has a personal story that speaks volumes and all are business savvy individuals.
Here is my favorite song by BEP I wanted to share this week. It's called "OWN IT" and that's what I want you all to do, find your inspiration and own your future it is yours for the taking.

  1. Great blog spot! The visual presentation is well done. This blog is needed for individuals who need a little pick me up, when they feel like giving up. I can speak from experience being 40 and returning to school. As you have stated, Jasmine, it is difficult to maintain a family, job and your studies. However, I believe through God all things are possible.

Through my own personal experience I have had many obstacales, however; I have always turns those negatives to positives. You have to evaluate the circumstances and ask, “What am I to take from this? What will be my outcome, if I cave in now? “ If you are having a difficult day, find resources such as this blog to stay encouraged, there are many who share your same goals and obstacles. Also lean on family and friends, any type of support is vital to your success. You may need to just vent, so that you can go on with your day!

Having attended college for my first degree in my 20's with two children, and a full-time job was not an easy task. There were many times, I wanted to give up. (There were no online classes at that time, not to say taking classes online is easier than being in the classroom. Truly, it isn't!) There were days when I wanted to say the heck with this! I am just going to work more hours or get a second job. I asked those questions above and always kept this in mind. " Things are rough, because I am so close to achieving my goal." Think about it, nothing in life comes easy. So I say, "if it takes a lot of effort...there is a great reward in the end." I can attest to no matter what your circumstances, you can succeed and be successful. I hope my post will inspire some of you to continue on through the rough spots. Your reward is just ahead.

Jasmine, I look forward to reading more of your post.

  2. This is a wonderful post and the Black Eyed Peas video fits the point you made in your post. I consider myself very blessed to be pursuing my dreams. Most people go through life and don't believe that they can accomplish their dreams because they fear failure. They don't want to take calculated risks and are afraid of failing. As Henry Ford eloquently said, "Whether you believe you can do a thing or not, you are right."

If you believe that you will accomplish your dreams no matter how many times you fail then you will succeed. Sometimes taking the first step is difficult or along the journey an obstacle gets in the way and you want to quit, this quote by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. "Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase" will inspire you to continue. Most successful people when they started out did not know how they were going to accomplish their dreams but they had unwavering believe in themselves.

As we learned in Introduction of Marketing on sustainability, they believed that their dreams will not only benefit them, but most importantly the world.

  3. Excellent post! I really liked the visual aids and the topic was fresh. Keeping a "fresh" or up-to-date blog is important because it keeps your viewers coming back. Blogs are really important tools that should be used with any company or individual in the entertainment industry. Your blog can be a tool that helps promote your visions and thoughts, which may help you find a job or help grow your network. I hope you continue to update this blog even after completing this course as this blog may become the next "viral" thing on the web! You never know what the future has in store for you so don't miss up on an opportunity!

  4. Thank you all for your post on this weeks discussion board. You stated that Things are rough, because I am so close to achieving my goal." Think about it, nothing in life comes easy. So I say, "if it takes a lot of effort...there is a great reward in the end." I know that the reward time is near for many of us and we all know behind every great success is a great story. It is very inspiring to see so many people of all ages, backgrounds, and circumstances going for their goals. We are taking the road less traveled, many people today want instant gratification, if it is not obtained then they just give up. Weither we pass a class or miss an assignment or even have a bad day at work, we should not let that stop us from continuing on our paths to fulfilling our dreams, all we can do is learn from our mistakes and strive to be better professionals, I am not going to get discouraged...and neither should you. Find your inspiration and share it with the world!
